The project involved demolition and remodeling of the third floor of the Searle building, including removal of all existing laboratory casework, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The new space, a fully functional research laboratory, contains new mechanical, plumbing, electrical, automatic sprinkler, laboratory air/gas/vacuum, and control systems. The project required a mechanical renovation of the ninth floor, new ductwork control valves on floors two to 15, and a new 22,000 lb. lab exhaust fan for the roof, which will service the entire building.
