Project Overview

Ragnar Benson recently completed the first phase of laboratory renovations for Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.  The project(s) consisted of the complete demolition and remodel of five (5) medical research laboratories located on various floors in NU's Searle, Ward and Tarry Buildings. Demolition consisted of the removal of all architectural finishes, laboratory casework as well as all mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. The renovated spaces included all new MEP systems and architectural finishes including modular and movable laboratory casework to allow reconfiguration of the spaces in the future. Construction took place in occupied buildings, which required extensive coordination of mechanical systems in order to maintain fully functional buildings and to avoid disruptions to any adjacent research laboratories. Ragnar is currently working on the second phase of the laboratory renovations.
