Project Overview
The project began in 2003 when Abbot Laboratories purchased the home built by its founder, Dr. Wallace C. Abbott, in 1891. To capture the feel of the late 19th century, the construction team used elements transplanted from the original home, including the front door, ornamental woodwork, bricks in the lower level, and the weather vane atop the cupola. The Abbott Heritage Museum & Cultural Facility project included the recreation of Dr. Abbott's House, a visitor's center, archive storage and meeting spaces.
